Forker unconcerned by Orchard injuries

Armagh's Aidan Forker

As the national football league throw-in approaches, Aidan Forker is confident that Armagh have the strength in depth to deal with injuries.

Kieran McGeeney's side finshed Sunday's Dr McKenna Cup clash against UUJ without Forker, captain Rory Grugan, Ben Crealey, Ethan Rafferty and Brendan Donaghy and they have precious little time to recover ahead of tomorrow's semi-final trip to Donegal.

There's also a potential final clash with Tyrone this weekend ahead of the January 28th Division Three opener against Sligo. It's been a demanding start to the year for Armagh - who are going into 2018 shorn of Ciaran McKeever, Jamie Clarke, James Morgan, Shea Heffron, Stefan Campbell, Oisin O'Neill and Ciaron O'Hanlon - but Forker is relishing the flurry of games:

"I wouldn't say it was a concern," the Maghery ace told The Irish News. "We've got a big panel of players who are chomping at the bit to get their place. There's no what you would call superstars in this team, it's all players who can slot in and do a job.

"That's the way we look at it. Games are the most important thing, they're coming thick and fast and that can only help us going into the league."
