Cahill confident he can turn it around

December 12, 2001
The county's new senior hurling team-manager, Dinny Cahill from Tipperary has declared himself quietly confident he can return the county "to a higher level of hurling'' in the coming season. Cahill has just taken his first coaching and training sessions in Casement Park on Sat urday and Carey on Sunday of last weekend and was encouraged even at this early stage that the material was there to create a winning team. Indeed, the Tipperary-born coach was upbeat by some of the talent on show in these training session, and was confident with plenty of coaching sessions, training and games he can gel a team capable of competing with the best around come next May or June. Cahill was assisted at the coaching sessions over the week-end by his fellow selectors Tom McLean of Dunloy and Ger Rogan of Rossa. He hopes to have further training sessions this coming weekend.
