Cunningham's Saffron future in doubt

Antrim's Paddy Cunningham

Paddy Cunningham has admitted that his Antrim career could be over.

The 29-year-old attacker is currently on an intercounty break due to work and family commitments and isn't sure whether or not he'll get back into the frame:

"I've good friends in the team - the likes of Niall McKeever and boys like that - and they've been asking me when am I coming back," the Lamh Dhearg clubman reveals in The Irish News.

"But I mightn't feel right about going back in if the team is going well. Whatever is best for the team. At the minute, I'm under pressure with work and family - but I'm enjoying the break from it, if I'm being honest.

"At the end of the day, I've omitted myself from the panel so therefore the door could be closed. I'll play away with the club and see how my performances are there and see how things go. Frank [Fitzsimons, manager] has brought a lot of fresh faces in."
