September 15, 2014

Antrim's Terence "Sambo" McNaughton.

Cushendall and St. Gall's will contest the Antrim SHC final after accounting for Dunloy and Sarsfields in the weekend's semi-finals.

Before a large crowd in Loughgiel last night, goals in either half from Christy and Donal McNaughton propelled Cushendall to a 2-10 to 0-11 victory over Dunloy. Managed by Antrim great Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton, Ruairi Og led by 1-6 to 0-6 at the break and they never looked in any danger after man of the match Donal McNaughton notched their second major in the 36th minute.

On Saturday night, St. Gall's edged out Sarsfields by 0-14 to 0-12 with Karl Stewart accounting for half of the winners' tally. The victory keeps the Milltown men on course for a senior hurling and football championship double, with the footballers in semi-final action against Creggan next weekend.
