Antrim's Aodhan Gallagher
Aodhan Gallagher believes the Antrim squad is strong enough to absorb the loss of CJ McGourty.

Saffrons boss Liam Bradley last week ruled the highly-rated forward out of his championship plans on the grounds that he isn't fit enough to play inter-county football at the moment after suffering a leg break at the start of the year. But while acknowledging that McGourty would be a significant loss, his St. Gall's team-mate Gallagher is confident Antrim can get by without him.

"Players of the calibre of CJ or anybody else we've lost are going to be missed in the team, but we've had to deal with that and we will deal with that," the big midfielder told the Irish News at last night's Ulster SFC launch in Belfast.

"We have a strong squad at the minute and obviously if Conor came back in it would be a massive boost to us, but it doesn't seem likely. We'll just have to do the best with what we've got."
