UUJ 3-5

Martin Dunne came off the bench to inspire Cavan to their second McKenna Cup win in four days at UUJ's expense in Kingspan Breffni Park.

The Cavan Gaels youngster scored five points - four from play - as Breffnimen came from behind to take the spoils. First half goals from Monaghan star Kieran Hughes and Diarmuid McNulty in the 12th and 29th minutes respectively helped Jordanstown to a 2-2 to 0-4 lead at the break.

But Val Andrews' charges were much improved in the second half, scoring six points to lead by two after 57 minutes. UUJ got back on level terms when McNulty grabbed their third goal with seven minutes remaining, but Cavan responded with late points from defender Dane O'Dowd and Gearoid McKiernan to come out on top.
