Cahill eager to retain Wallis' services

Former Antrim hurling manager Dinny Cahill
Dinny Cahill is determined to keep Jerry Wallis with the Antrim hurlers for another season.
The former Cork physical coach made the long commute from Midleton to Belfast for training and games this year and has yet to confirm if he will be remaining with the Saffrons next year.
"Jerry is self-employed and I haven't had a chance to talk to him since the Cork game," Cahill said in the Irish Daily Mirror.
"But I'd very hopeful that he will stay on for another year and it definitely would be a major setback for Antrim hurling if he stepped down.
"When I got involved with Antrim towards the end of last year, we spent a lot of time putting things in place and getting the structures properly set up. Getting Jerry to come on board as team trainer was one of the things we had to do before we were able to get up and running."
The Antrim manager continued: "But if Jerry doesn't decide to remain on with us for 2011, we would find ourselves back in the situation where we were starting from scratch once again. He did a terrific job this year and made a very important contribution to how well we did in the championship.
"We made a lot of progress this year and we want to push on next year."
