Second half heartens Cahill

Dinny Cahill was particularly pleased by Antrim's second-half performance against Kildare.

The Saffrons rolled up their sleeves to remain in contention at the business end of Division Two with a 1-19 to 2-7 victory in Newbridge and Tipp native Cahill felt they improved considerably after the break:

"It was a hard day to hurl; there was a strong breeze down the field.

"We were creating the chances and that was the positive about it. We knew Kildare were a nice, lively team but we closed them down in the second half and picked off the scores.

"The first half, we had an awful lot of possession but we didn't always punish them. The second half, we punished them."
