Bradley hopeful of McGourty involvement
November 20, 2008
New Antrim football boss Liam Bradley is awaiting confirmation from Kevin McGourty as to whether he will be available for selection next year.
The St. Gall's ace hasn't played a championship game for the Saffrons in two years, but Bradley is eager to see him return to the fold in 2009.
"I have spoken to Kevin McGourty and I am hopeful he is going to be part of my panel in 2009," the Derry man said.
"He told me that he will let me know on Sunday evening whether he is going to be available or not. All I can say is that I want him to be there. I would like to think that I could work with Kevin."
Bradley also revealed that the four St. Gall's players who quit the Antrim squad following their exit from last season's Ulster championship have all signalled their intention to return next year.
Team captain Sean Kelly, Terry O'Neill, CJ McGourty and Aodhan Gallagher left the panel following the defeat to Cavan and played no part in the county's successful Tommy Murphy Cup campaign.
