Bradley places his hope on unearthing 'half-a-dozen' newcomers

October 31, 2008
New Antrim senior football boss Liam Bradley says he is hoping that forthcoming county trials will see six new players who can drive the Saffrons forward in 2009. "We are holding trials next Thursday night at Casement Park for every player over 21 years of age," Bradley explained. "U21 players will be looked at in due time. Any guy over 21 who feels that he can offer something to Antrim football is to be at Casement Park next Thursday night. "The trials over the next few weeks do not involve the guys who were on the panel last year. "What we hope is that we get about 40 fellas next week and we will trial them off over three weeks and then they will play the present panel in two games, so they will maybe get five or six games to prove that they are good enough at this level. "Hopefully we can unearth half-a-dozen new players. There are plenty of guys out there who can maybe score two or three points from play in a game but his lifestyle is letting him down. "The trials will run until the end of November. Then we will name our squad for the McKenna Cup."
