Glancy relishing Fingal clash
July 18, 2008
Leitrim hurling manager Kevin Glancy has admitted that he is relishing his side's Nicky Rackard Cup clash with Fingal this Saturday, stressing that his sides are determined to match the north Dublin side.
The Connacht side will travel to Parnell Park on Saturday to face a fancied Fingal side after they'd topped their group in the competition, and the Leitrim boss will be hoping that his team can focus on their own game and put up a worthy performance when they travel to the capital.
"It's going to be a great occasion and this is the sort of place we want to be. Going by the results, Fingal were in the toughest group and topped that. They beat Louth and Longford, two very strong teams. We played both of them earlier in the year and they are very strong and I think Louth won the Division in the League.
"You always hope for the easiest possible draw but I think we were expecting a tough one but we will prepare as best we can and focus totally on our own performance and we are determined to give them a right good game of it," said Glancy.
Leitrim take on Fingal this Saturday in the quarter-finals of the Nicky Rackard Cup with a throw-in time scheduled for 3.00pm at Parnell Park.
