Lee Keegan returned to the Westport colours last weekend for the first time since sustaining a serious knee injury last October.
The Sunday Game pundit and former Footballer of the Year lined out at centre back for Pat Holmes’ charges in their 4-16 to 2-18 victory over Ballintubber in Division 1 of the SFL. He had been sidelined for almost eight months after colliding with his former Mayo team-mate Padraig O’Hora in last year’s drawn Mayo SFC final against Ballina Stephenites.
Keegan played the full 60 minutes in what is a major boost to Westport’s hopes of winning the Moclair Cup this year.
