AN SRATH BÁN CUMANN MHIC SIOGHAIR C.L.G. Adult Football: The senior and reserve teams travelled to play Errigal Ciarán Thirds in the O'Neill's Sportswear Tyrone ACL Division 3 & Reserve last Sunday evening and both sides recorded fine wins to maintain their challenge for league honours. Many thanks are extended to the large crowd of Strabane supporters who made their way to the game despite the inclement weather. The games were kindly sponsored by: Customised Training Services, Upper Main Street, Strabane to whom we extend our warmest thanks. There will be no games this weekend as we are the free team in the division. The next scheduled league games are at home to Fintona on Saturday 5th July. Following this game, Strabane will have away games against Castlederg and Clogher and home games against Glenelly, Newtownstewart and Drumquin to finish off the league season. The junior championship game against Augher is provisionally scheduled for Sunday 27th July but is subject to change. Training for the clubs senior and reserve teams continues on Wednesday and Friday nights at Páirc Mhic Sioghair. All players are asked to be on the pitch and ready to go for 7:40pm each night. Any players who are unable to attend any of the sessions are asked to ensure that they contact Dermot or Dessie. Youth Football: The Juvenile league will commence tonight (Thursday) with an away trip to Carrickmore. Transport will leave the clubrooms at 6:15pm sharp. All players are asked to bring a water bottle and £1:50 for the bus. Next Wednesday night 2nd July, the boys are at home to Dromore. All players are asked to be at the clubrooms by 7:00pm. The Juveniles will play in the annual Clann na nGael tournament in memory of Aidan O'Kane this Saturday 28th June. They will play in the same section as Aghyaran, Steelstown, Craigbane, Newtownstewart and Urney. Transport will leave the clubrooms on Saturday morning at 9:00am sharp. Last week the boys played a useful challenge game at home to Aghyaran and despite a lot of players being away on a school trip won easily. Thanks to Aghyaran for travelling for the game. Coaching for the clubs Juvenile (Under 16's) footballers will continue every Tuesday night from 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Páirc Mhic Sioghair, all new players welcome. An end of season trip for the Under 14 footballers will be organised within the next few weeks. Keep a watch on the club notes or the website for more details. The clubs Under 12 footballers continued their Go Games Under 12 league away to Omagh on Monday night. Past with both teams recording welcome wins. Well done to all the boys on a great performance. Apologies are extended to everyone about the mix up with the transport last Monday night. Next Monday night, the boys are at home to Dromore. All players are asked to be at the clubrooms by 6:45pm. The club hosted a very successful Tyrone Go Games Under 10 Blitz at Páirc Mhic Sioghair last Saturday morning and received high praise from everyone in attendance about the organisation of the event. Thanks to all who lent their assistance and to all the parents who supplied refreshments with an extra special word of thanks to Diane Arbuckle who looked after the teas. Thanks also to all the club referees and to Kieran O'Kane and Tommy Doherty for their hard work and effort. There will be coaching for the clubs Under 12 and 8 age groups this Saturday morning at the club grounds from 11am -12noon. Coaching for all Under 12, 10 and 8 age groups will continue every Tuesday night from 7-8pm at the club grounds. New players are always welcome. Ladies Football: Tonight (Thursday) the senior ladies will travel to play Galbally in the league. Transport will leave the clubrooms at 6:15pm sharp. Training for the Senior Ladies continues on Monday nights at Páirc Mhic Sioghair from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. Training is also on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. Coaching for the clubs Juvenile Ladies squad will continue on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30pm. New players are very welcome. The girls Under 14 footballers played at home to Pomeroy last Monday night in their final league game and put in a gallant display and were very unlucky to lose 4-12 to 4-11 to the visitors. Many thanks are extended to all the Under 14 girls for their effort and dedication all season and a special word of thanks to the management team of Joe Bonner, Conor McCool, Bernie Conwell, Clare O'Kane, Paul Kelly and Pearse McGranaghan. Like the Under 14 boys an end of season trip will be organised, more details to follow. The Under 12 girls will be play at home against Owen Roes this Saturday 28th June @ 11am. All girls are asked to be at the clubrooms by 10:30am sharp. There will be training for all Under 14, 12 and 10 girls at the club grounds from 7:00-8:00pm every Tuesday night. All new players are very welcome. All female players are asked to ensure that they have their registration fees fully paid up. Club Tyrone Summer Camp: The club will host the annual Club Tyrone Summer Camp at Páirc Mhic Sioghair from Monday 7th - Thursday 10th July inclusive. Registration forms are available via the schools or by contacting club youth officer Kieran O'Kane. All forms and monies should be in by next Saturday 5th July. Club gear & Leisurewear: The first batch of the new club gear and leisurewear was distributed during the week and judging by reaction there will be a need for a second order very shortly. Anyone interested in ordering any gear, shorts, socks, kit bags, polo shirts or tracksuits should contact Kieran O'Kane without delay. This also applies to adult members. 400 Club Draw: The June 400 Club Members Draw will take place next Friday night 4th July. All returns should be made to Ignatius Maguire or Aodhán Harkin by next Thursday night 3rd July at the latest. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir. Good Luck: Good luck and best wishes to the minor footballers of Tyrone who play Cavan in the Ulster semi-final on Sunday at Clones. Breast Cancer Charity: Club representatives, Aodhán Harkin, Ignatius Maguire and Hollie Friel handed over a cheque for £800.00 last Saturday morning to Deirdre Campbell who was represent Breast Cancer Charity. Sigersons Ladies as part of their 10th Anniversary events earlier this season had raised the monies and everyone involved are to be warmly commended. Thanks to everyone for their kind support. Membership Fees: The club membership for 2008 is now officially closed. Social Membership can still be paid and any new playing members at adult or youth levels (male and female) will also be accepted. Alphalot: The club Alphalot Results for Monday 23rd June.
