McCabe boost for Fermanagh

Fermanagh's Shane McCabe
Irish League outfit Glentoran have given Shane McCabe permission to play for Fermanagh in the Ulster SFC final on July 20.
The east Belfast club, who McCabe is contracted to, have given the attacker the green light to play in the Clones decider, despite it being sandwiched between their UEFA Cup preliminary round games.
Glens manager and former Northern Ireland and QPR star Alan McDonald had a meeting with McCabe on Monday and said he had no problem with him lining out for the Erne County in what will be their first Ulster final appearance since 1982.
"I was always quite happy for Shane to fulfil his commitments with Fermanagh," McDonald said.
"We are aware of the importance of the championship final to Fermanagh and Shane, whose commitment to Glentoran is 110 per cent.
"Our first leg UEFA Cup game is three days before the Ulster final and Shane will be available for that. As far as I'm concerned there is no conflict of interest."
Glentoran had permitted McCabe to play in Fermanagh's opening two Ulster championship games and he played a pivotal role after coming on as a substitute against both Monaghan and Derry.
The Belcoo clubman has made 17 appearances for Glentoran since joining them from Dungannon Swifts last January.
