Ulster MFC: Tierney sends Cavan into quarters

A goal from Cavan full forward Kevin Tierney in the 40th minute proved decisive in Cavan coming away with a three-point win against Antrim in the ESB Ulster MFC at Casement Park on Sunday. Cavan 1-14 Antrim 2-8 A brace of goals for the Saffrons from Christopher Loughran and Simon Dowds saw the hosts bring in a 2-3 to 0-7 lead at the break, after had led the opening 26 minutes of the half. However Tierney's goal ten minutes into the restart setup things nicely for Mickey Graham's side in the second-half and the efforts of Gearoid McKiernan at centre field along with Niall McDermott at centre forward saw the Breffni County triumph by three points in the end. It all means that Cavan will face Armagh on June 15 at Kingspan Breffni Park to decide who goes into the last four of the Ulster MFC.
