'Stradbally tired but rearing to go' - Ahearne

November 26, 2005
Stradbally football manager Sean Ahearne has admitted that while his side is still getting over its county title-winning celebrations, all his players are fighting fit for tomorrow's (Sunday) Munster club tilt with Nemo Rangers. The Waterford football champions only won their county title last week and their manager admits that his players could have done with a longer break before meeting Nemo. "We would have liked another week as we only won the Waterford title last week," the Stradbally boss explained. "It was a fantastic victory for the club, our fifth title in a row, which hadn't been done in Waterford since the forties. "The celebrations went on for a few days alright especially after winning five titles in a row. "We'd have liked another week to prepare, but at the same time we're looking forward to the game."
