The Sigerson Teams
February 26, 2004
A full list of all the squads taking part in the Sigerson Cup.
Cork IT
Cork IT joined the ranks of the Sigerson in 1995, along with their more successful colleagues in Tralee (who won three Sigesons in a row in 1997-9). This is their first year in the finals. Chairman of the St. Mary's organizing committee, Peter Finn, expressed his delight on seeing a new team reach the weekend, "The presence of Cork IT makes this Sigerson a truly All-Ireland affair with representative teams from every province".

They have reached this year's final rounds, defeating Athlone IT and St. Mary's on the way. The rivalry between QUB and the Ranch is made more intense by the close ties between the two Belfast institutions with each encounter being fiercely contested.. Following their one-point victory over the host team, St. Mary's club chairman, Ryan Feeney, wished QUB well for the remainder of the competition as the sole northern representative in this year's final rounds.

University College Dublin
One of the original colleges of the Sigerson, UCD holds the record for the most Sigerson victories at 32 wins. Since it dominated the competition in the 70s, however, it has only won twice in the last 25 years (1985 and 1996). This is indicative of the increasing number of competitors and the increasing competiveness of the championship. This year's team is hungry to improve on recent history.
