The hunger and desire is as strong as ever in the Kilkenny dressingroom, according to Cillian Buckley.

As the Cats prepare for yet another All-Ireland SHC semi-final, they could be forgiven for resting on their laurels given the amount of success that they have had over the years.

However, Buckley stressed to the Kilkenny People that everyone is still as driven as ever and particularly the older players in the squad.

"It's an eye-opener to me seeing how hungry these lads stay. Jackie Tyrrell epitomises that - if everyone could take a fraction of his hunger you'd be doing very well," said Buckley.

"I spoke to him after the Leinster final. It was a great day for me, having won my third Leinster final, but it was Jackie's eleventh.

"To see the hunger he showed in training, both before and after that game, is inspiring. If we carry that attitude into the All-Ireland semi-final it'll give us a good start.

"Everyone is capable of more. You can never be too hungry. That bit of success over the last few years has lifted Waterford. Winning as a team makes you more united. It will make them that bit hungrier and, for us more dangerous."
