Cavan manager Terry Hyland speaks to the media
Terry Hyland defended Cavan's discipline after their ill-tempered clash with Fermanagh at Kingspan Breffni Park.

Three players - two from Fermanagh - were red-carded, while Hyland's assistant Anthony Forde was also banished to the stand in a game which was marred by a mass brawl on the stroke of half-time.

"The match did turn into a battle but we stayed disciplined and got through," the Cavan manager said after his side's seven-point victory.

"Our boys push out hard and tackle hard - we've worked on that and it has paid dividends. Give us a little bit of time. We're a long way from being the finished article."
