Nallen calls it a day

Mayo's James Nallen gets in his clearance despite the efforts of Tyrone's Tommy McGuigan to block.
Two-time All Star James Nallen has retired from the inter-county game after 15 years of service with the Mayo senior football team.
The Crossmolina club man, who has a record 132 appearances for his county, told manager John O'Mahony of his decision in the last couple of days.
Nallen, who lined out for the county in five All-Ireland finals, including the 1996 replay against Meath, made his last senior appearance in a Mayo jersey as a substitute against New York at Gaelic Park in the 2009 Connacht SFC.
Renowned as a cultured centre back, before also spending time at midfield and wing back, Nallen made his debut for Mayo against Galway in the National Football League back in 1995.
Another survivor of the 1997 All-Ireland final defeat to Kerry (he was not involved a year earlier against Meath) likely to have played his last game in the county colours is David Heaney, who has completed his transfer from Swinford to the Claregalway club.
The 32-year-old has won five Connacht SFC medals with Mayo and has been living in neighbouring Galway for a number of years.
