Search begins for manager

November 13, 2008
The Carlow County Board have begun the process of searching for a new hurling manager following the resignation of Jim Greene from the position. Chairman Pat Deering has revealed that the county board will begin interviewing candidates over the coming days in a bid to find the right man for the job. Greene felt that he was not getting the full back of the board after he had guided the county to Christy Ring Cup success earlier this year and subsequently resigned. However, Deering feels that it should not take too long to find a replacement of the stature of Greene and vowed that no stone would be left unturned in their search for a new manager. "We've identified a few people and we've been approached by people who have enquired about the job. The committee will be talking to people by the end of the week," said Deering. "We've no deadline as yet but we'd hope to have someone in place by the end of the month."
