Management suits McKeever

Former Armagh footballer Paddy McKeever is enjoying foray into management.

In 2009, McKeever called time on his inter county career having won an array of medals and awards including an All-Ireland title in 2002.

However, he has adapted to life on the line and guided Fermanagh side Teemore Shamrocks to this year's county intermediate title.

"I would have helped out with various teams for a few years just, but Teemore was my first proper position," McKeever told Gaelic Life.

"I was trainer/selector initially but ended up as the manager the way things worked out. It came about at a Queen's reunion actually. Peter Quinn was there as we had won a Sigerson together. He threw a line out to see if I would bite and that's where it came from. We chatted from there and it happened.

"I would have to say that the transition has been aided by an absolutely unbelievable group of players who have applied themselves in every way I have asked. I have been really fortunate in that regard and that has made it so much easier."
