Conor Gray has become the latest Meath senior footballer to suffer an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear.

WeAreMeath’s David Rispin tweeted the news on Saturday that Gray had suffered the dreaded injury while playing for Dunshaughlin in their senior football championship clash against Simonstown.

The 2024 champions won by 0-27 to 2-12 in Dunganny, but are now set to be without their county attacker Gray until next season.

It comes after fellow clubman and Meath ace Ruairí Kinsella suffered the same injury in the run up to the Royals’ All-Ireland SFC meeting with Derry back in June.

The weekend before last also saw 2025 All-Star nominee Sean Coffey sustain an ACL tear whilst on duty for Ballinabrackey during their senior football championship defeat to Wolfe Tones.
