Carlow Camogie have appointed former Tipperary hurling star Paul Kelly as their new intermediate manager.

The Mullinahone man won All-Ireland SHC medals with Tipp in 2001 and 2010 along with All-Stars in 2002 and 2005. His younger brother Eoin is also a two-time Liam MacCarthy Cup winner who picked up six All-Stars and scored a staggering 21-368 in a glittering inter-county career.

The new manager will be assisted by lead hurling coach Brendan Hayden.

"Carlow Camogie are delighted to announce Paul Kelly, from Tipperary, as Intermediate Team Manager for 2026,” a statement read.

“A member of the Mullinahone club and PE and Geography teacher in Fethard, Paul has won All-Ireland titles as a player in 2001 and 2010 and he claimed All-Star awards in 2002 and 2005.

“Paul had a successful spell managing Mullinahone in LGFA, Fethard in Camogie and has also coached hurling and camogie teams including the Dublin Senior team. In addition, we are equally pleased to announce that Brendan Hayden will join Paul as lead hurling coach.

“This is a very exciting prospect for Carlow Camogie combining an All-Ireland Senior Championship winner with a track record in management with one of the best hurling coaches in Carlow who has a proven track record at inter county & club level.

“A backroom team will be announced over the coming weeks.”
