Cork hurlers have opted against a homecoming event on Monday evening following their All-Ireland final loss to Tipperary.

It is the second final in a row that the Rebels have lost and there was a welcome home even in Pairc Ui Chaoimh twelve months ago but there will be no repeat of that this time.

"At the request of the team and management, there is no event planned for the return of the Cork hurlers this evening," said a statement from Cork GAA.

"They would again like to thank all the entire county for their unwavering support throughout the year."
