Former Footballer of the Year Kieran McGeary is set miss part of Tyrone’s 2026 Allianz Football League campaign due to travel plans.
The Irish News reports that McGeary will be unavailable for the first couple of the games at least as the Red Hands embark on Division 2 at the end of January, while forward Mark Bradley is ruled out for the entirety of the season as he goes travelling abroad.
2025 had been Bradley’s first season back for Tyrone in three years after getting the call up from manager Malachy O’Rourke, but he’ll now be unavailable for the team’s forthcoming campaign.
Speaking on McGeary’s availability next year, O’Rourke commented: “The important thing for us is that he wasn’t writing off the year by any means. We’re hoping that he’ll be back during the National League. I don’t know the exact date when he’s coming back, I don’t know if he knows himself.
“He’s in good shape, he’s keen to do the work when he’s away, and the earlier he’ll be back, the better for us.
“We’re hopeful that he’s going to be involved, and he’ll be working away while he’s away.”
