Clare SHC semi-final draw to follow second QF double-bill

The semi-final line-up for the 2026 Clare senior hurling championship will be completed via a Sunday evening double-header in Ennis.

Scariff and Inagh-Kilnamona became the first two into the hat for the semi-final draw following quarter-final victories over Clooney-Quin and Cratloe respectively at the county grounds on Saturday.

In a pulsating finale, Mark Rodgers nailed the last three scores to give Scariff a dramatic 1-12 to 0-27 victory over last years’ beaten finalists. County ace Rodgers also planted the only goal of the game shortly before half time, a strike that handed Donal Moloney’s charges a 1-15 to 0-14 interval advantage.

Meanwhile, 2021 finalists Inagh-Kilnamona beat Cratloe by 1-23 to 1-17 in the second quarter-final. Kealan Guyler netted in the fourth minute and points from All-Ireland medallists Aidan McCarthy (5), David Fitzgerald (3) and Sean Rynne helped the winners lead by nine.

Facing into the elements, Cratloe battled back in the second half and Marc O’Brien’s goal followed by a Diarmuid Ryan point tied the scores up at 1-17 apiece. In the end, six unanswered scores - three points from McCarthy, a Fred Hegarty brace and one from substitute Gearoid Barry – propelled Inagh-Kilnamona into their second semi-final in three years.

The last-four draw takes place straight after the third and fourth quarter-finals on Sunday: champions Éire Óg and Wolfe Tones are first up at 2.45 followed by what promises to be a right belter between Clonlara and Kilmaley at 4.45.
