Former Dublin star Jason Sherlock has been linked with a role in Roscommon senior football manager Mark Dowd’s backroom team for the 2026 season.

The Roscommon Herald have reported the link-up between Sherlock and Dowd after the 1995 All-Ireland winner was in attendance at Sunday’s drawn Roscommon SFC final between Padraig Pearses and St Brigid’s at King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park.

Sherlock was a key part of Jim Gavin’s backroom team during Dublin’s historic five-in-a-row run from 2015 to 2019, and would later go to work under Dessie Dolan in Westmeath during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

It has been reported that Iain Daly (Michael Glaveys) and John Rogers (Strokestown) are set to form part of the new backroom team under Dowd, who was appointed as Davy Burke’s successor in August.
