Nenagh Eire Og defender Barry Heffernan says he and his team mates are coming up against “one of the greatest club teams of all time” in Loughmore/Castleiney in this weekend’s Tipperary SHC final.

The two sides clash for the Dan Breen Cup on Sunday at FBD Semple Stadium, with Loughmore looking for a third title in five years and Nenagh bidding for what would be their first since 1995.

Two-time All-Ireland winner Heffernan says the North Tipp men are well aware of the size of the task at hand in Thurles this weekend.

“It would mean absolutely everything, it would be a dream come true but I’m under no illusions, you can’t fall in to that,” he told TippFM Sport.

“If I was to reflect on other years, maybe Nenagh could’ve went there when they shouldn’t have thought about that.

“I think that will be the message that we will be focusing on that dreaming is dangerous and you can’t do that and you have to really focus on preparing for this final.

“You’re going to play against one of the greatest club teams of all time so that is very important that we prepare ourselves for that and just the sixty minutes.

“It’s not an occasion, it’s a hurling match and that is the way we will be preparing for it.”
