A Galway GAA club has been left reeling by vandalism to a new perimeter fencing at their grounds.
Gardaí are investigating the damage as well as the theft of fixings from the fence at Tommy Larkins GAA club in Woodford.
A post on the club’s Facebook page read: “We're disappointed to report that overnight our newly-installed spectator fencing was vandalised, with around 70 bolts removed and stolen.
“This wasn't random damage—it involved someone deliberately removing fixings from the fencing. The theft of such a large number of bolts raises concerns that those responsible may return to cause further damage or attempt to remove sections of the fencing. We would ask everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to An Garda Síochána.
“It's incredibly disappointing to see a new community facility targeted in this way. We hope, with the support of the local community, we can prevent further incidents.”
