From what I seen, the intermediate championship in Kildare this year wasn't as strong as it has been in recent years. I'd side with Dunshaughlin in this one 11jm11 (Kildare) - Posts: 367 - 23/10/2022 08:42:28 2445078 Link 1 |
Do we have any idea how Dunshaughlin are expected to do in the Leinster champ, who are looking like challengers ? houndinbound (Meath) - Posts: 22 - 25/10/2022 16:37:59 2445418 Link 0 |
Dunshaughlin are close to evens favourites for Leinster. Cooley Kickhams are next and they'll play each other if they both win their quarter finals. I'd be surprised if the winner doesn't come from that side of the draw.

Challengers are the teams that won their respective county Intermediate championship

Your posts are not ageing well Patrick. Beating the Kildare champions by 15 so guess their standard ain't atrocious.

The Kildare IFC was the worst in 40 year i was told by a man from Castledermot. See how they get on next week, handy draw against louth all the same. And the Dublin IFC is actually JFC as Dublin have senior A & Senior B.

This is some level of looking for excuses haha. The handy draw against Cooley Kickhams is against the bookies 2nd favourites after Dunshauglin. And for years Dublin has had senior A and B

I guess that settles the argument if you know a man from Castledermot who has researched the last 40 years of Kildare football. Well done.

The dublin IFC is really the JFC. With Senior A with 20 teams. Senior B with 16 teams. PatrickTopping (Meath) - Posts: 117 - 08/11/2022 08:28:15 2446826 Link 1 |
Yeah but the point is you knew that about the Dublin championship and you knew that about the Kildare Intermediate championship being weak and you still said Dunshaughlin would do nothing and now you are being made to look like a fool. Quit while you are behind pal..... Very much behind. Blackspot09 (Meath) - Posts: 975 - 08/11/2022 10:14:16 2446832 Link 0 |

The bookies probably love someone like Patrick going in and having a few bets because they would clean up but he does make some very valid points about the Dublin and Kildare Intermediate Championships. In fairness the standard in both are poor. The fact that the game on Saturday was close in the first half was probably Dunshaughlin's own doing, between bad shooting, lads playing in the wrong position and probably not starting their best 15, they made it tough on themselves. Dunshaughlin will learn from those mistakes and will take great confidence from having scored 2-13 in the 2nd half on Saturday. With the talent they possess they are rightfully favourites to win Leinster. Although they won't be as poor as Ballyteague, for Cooley to be keeping the Dunshaghlin lads awake at night with worry, they would want to have beaten Naomh Barrog much more convincingly because as Patrick quite rightly says the Dublin Intermediate is about equal to Junior. As this will be Dunshaughlin's fifth game in a row in Pairc Tailteann, they must know every blade of grass, if they turn on the style again they could easily win by 10 points. Well lads, i was right anyway. Better team won on the day. Imagine in the actual dublin champions from Senior B were in it. PatrickTopping (Meath) - Posts: 117 - 03/12/2022 14:16:05 2449414 Link 0 |
