Dunderry 1-19 to 2-10

Two villages either side of Trim landed in Boardsmill for this fourth of the SHC B and penultimate group game.

Longwood open the scoring with a 65.

Cathal Barron replied from play after Níall O Leary gathered a throw in off loaded. Ciarán O Brien in his second start hit a brace in as many minutes. The first was a beauty over the shoulder on the left hand side and from the restart he intersected the puc out and drilled straight over. A Longwood free had the deficit down to the minimum but Fagans well drilled puck out landed in Crinnion hand and he went back 20yrds to Rian Fay who split the posts. O Leary broke up another Longwood attack and he too went away from trouble to the waiting Cathal Barron who pointed at full tilt.

A Longwood goal leveled matters but up stepped Ciarán O Brien with another peach to restore our lead. Longwood reply with a white flag from another placed ball. Next up it was pair from Crinion.  Both points from attempted clearances getting smothered and, after sending a few tracer rounds in earlier he knew where the posts were and punched over confidentiality. Longwood come back with a point from play and would only manage another free before the half. Dunderry however were starting to click. Luke Martyn was closing in on goal , pulled down and Nolan converted. Darragh Fay drove out from defence and found Kelly in space who tapped over. Crinion was pulled down in the next attack and Nolan obliged with the free. From the Longwood puc out, Barron rose highest and sent it back where it came from. Rian Fay was fouled while clearing his line and from 70 yards Nolan did his magic once more. Kelly - working hard in the middle popped up for his two in a row. Winning his own ball for the first and Loughran finding him for his second and the last of the opening half. 

Dunderry well in controll and leading 0-15 to 1-05. 

The second half was tit for tat to start. Longwood opened from play before Barron drilled over. After a goal mouth scramble and some serious defending Longwood manage only a point. 

Another Longwood attack was broken up - this time Mc Hale stood strongest and delivered to Jamie Leavy who sent the sliother well and truly over the bar. One from a free and one from play had Longwood back to five off the lead but Crinions work was relentless and he dug out the ball and passed out to Barron who made no mistake. Loughran snuffed another Longwood attack and found Duffy free in the middle who passed sweetly to Ciarán O Brien for his fourth of the day. 

Under the cosh once more but out bursts O'Leary, up the line to recently introduced Nial Darcy. His effort on goal was well stopped but Evan Nolan was on hand to pull on in and raise a green flag. 

Down the other end of the field a bit of a skirmish broke out and Longwood hit the net from the resulting free. The last score of the game went Longwoods way also from play. 

But a well deserved win for Dunderry who put in a great team performance and can look forward to the last group game in a fortnight.
