Bhulf Tón 2-17 Trim 1-20 in Athboy

Trim had dominated the first quarter, scoring with ease and dominating the Tones puckout before a second quarter revival narrowed the gap and Tones would have been level at half time bar a save by the Trim keeper when he managed to stop Sean McKeown's penalty.

The game finished in a welter of excitement in a spate of tit for tat scoring as the lead changed hands a number of times in the home strait. In the dying minutes Conor Sheppard seemed to have earned a draw for the Tones only for Trim to edge ahead deep into injury time. Up stepped Eoin Donegan who battled hard to win a magnificent turnover as Trim sought to clear their lines. He fed Sean McKeown who pointed with the last puck of the game and the teams finished all square after a pulsating final quarter.
