Ratoath 3-15 Trim 0-10

Ratoath claimed a second comfortable win in Group B of the Meath Senior Football Championship with 14 points to spare over Trim on Pitch 6 at Devenish Park Dunganny. Last year’s finalists defeated Skryne in their opening round 4-17 to 0-13.

Oisin Kelly, Eamonn Wallace and Rob Hayes registered three early points for the winners but by the end of the first quarter Trim reduced the lead to one with efforts from Aaron Lynch (2) and Tom Carmody. Daithi McGowan extended that lead with the games first goal soon after. Trim responded with a brilliant two pointer from Carmody and one each Lynch and Douglas. Kevin Daly’s men went in at the break 1-7 to 0-7 in front.

Eamonn Wallace gave the winners a perfect start to the second half with a two pointer. Ratoath began to dominate and by the 15th minutes they had the win in the bag. Points from Adam Ducie, a goal from Bryan McMahon and further white flags from Liam Kelly, Daithi McGowan and Glenn Reilly opened up a 2-13 to 0-8 lead. Cian Rogers rounded a comfortable nights work for Ratoath with their third goal in injury time.
