Facing a gale force wind in the first half Bhulf Tón held their own in the opening quarter and were level on 0-2 apiece having created several other scoring opportunities. Boardsmill then found their range and hit seven points from distance to a solitary Harrington free and led 0-9 to 0-3 as the half drew to a close. Corbyn Jenkinson and Harrington raised white flags before Bhulf Ton conceded a goal to trail 1-9 to 0-5. However a crucial goal from Harrington left Tones trailing by five at half time. Such was the strength of the wind that Bhulf Tón were happy with that tally.
Joe Smith in the Tones goals made a fine save in the opening play of the second half before Tones got to work in reducing the deficit. Four points without reply left just a point in it before Tones finally got their noses in front courtesy of John Lee who pounced on a rebound from a Kyle Moran shot to find the net. Two Harrington points pushed the margin to four points before a Boardsmill goal left the minimum between the sides with just minutes remaining. However Tones held steady and saw the game out adding four points before the end.
This was a good team performance form the Kilberry men with O'Brien and Donegan rocks in defence. Éanna Harrington mastered the wind to hit 1-12, many of them frees from long range.
