Following a very competitive first half the teams were level at half time on 0 08 each.

St Pats gradually pulled away in the third quarter and led by 0 15 to 0 10 with just ten minutes remaining. Howerever, Tones upped their intensity levels and began to dominate possession around the middle and began to reel their east Meath opponents in. Sean mc Keown pounced on a defensive error to find the back of the net to put Tones in front.

St Pats rallied but couldn’t break down a resolute Tones defence where Gearoid O'Brien and the O'Hare brothers were outstanding. Eoin Donegan was a rock in defence and later at midfield while Eanna Harrington’s contribution from frees was significant.
