September 08, 2025

Kildalkey's Conor Kearney

Drumree 2-18 Kildalkey 1-16

Kildalkey finished out their group games of the IHC in Trim on Saturday night with this Round 5 game against last years finalists Drumree and after a spirited display just fell short by 5 points.

The wind played a big part in this game and the blues had it in the first half and led by 1-11 to 1-5 and were good value for it with the returning Conor Kearney from Australia leading the way up front hitting 1-7 of their tally.

The other scores came from David Harmon Ryan Byas with 2 and Billy Birmingham .

But when Drumree got the wind behind them they took over and first drew level and then went ahead eventually over powering Kildalkey finishing up 2-18 to 1-16 winners on the night .

Kearney hit 4 more points in the half for his team and David Harmon got the other.

Harmon also had the ball in the net from an overhead pull but was deemed in the square which would have tightened it up in the closing stages but it was Drumree who finished strongest.

Drumree go through to the knockout stages and Kildalkey go into the B competition
