Trevor Healy keeps control for Rathmolyon against Dunboyne

Rathmolyon qualified for the knockout stages of the IHC following a one point victory over St. Peters Dunboyne in Batterstown.

The Village took the lead through points from Joey Christie and Sean Howley. St Peters kept in touch through scores from Jason Gleeson.

Further points from Daithi Grehan and Jack Payne and a goal just before half time from Stephen Mulligan left the scoreline at the break Rathmolyon 1.08 St. Peters Dunboyne 0.08

The second half was a tight affair but the Village pushed on with further points from Joey Christie and Vincent Ward leaving Rathmolyon ahead by five points.

St. Peters hit back with a goal and a point to ensure a tense finale to the game and pushed hard for an equaliser but Trevor Healy and Simon Ennis held firm for the Village who held on to win on a scoreline of 1.18 to 1.17.

This rounded off a great weekend for Rathmolyon as its Junior B team progressed to the semi finals of the Junior B Championship.
