Ladies football championship round up

There was more cause for celebration for Niamh O'Sullivan after her late goal earn an opening round win for Royal Gaels over Simonstown.

The Meath ladies Senior, Intermediate and  Junior A championship club football championships began last weekend.

Senior

Dunboyne 4-24 Oldcastle 2-06

St Michaels 2-11 Donaghmore Ash 7-09

Intermediate 

Group A

Navan O’Mahonys 5-12 Dee Rangers 3-05

Dunsany 0-11 Summerhill 3-10

Na Fianna 1-15 At Colmcilles 2-05

Ratoath 5-07 Clann Na nGael 1-08.

Sunday 19th saw the start of the Kepak Senior, Intermediate & Junior A championship in Meath with a full programme of games being played across the county. 

In Group A, there were victories for Seneschalstown who overcame Boardsmill while Royal Gaels provided a shock win against last years beaten finalists Simonstown with a late goal from county star Niamh O’Sullivan clinching the victory.  

Next week clashes are

Seneschalstown v Simonstown and Royal Gaels v Boardsmill 

In the Senior Group B, 2021 champions Dunboyne got their campaign off to a winning start v Oldcastle while and newcomers Donaghmore Ashbourne who notched 7 goals on their way to victory against St Michaels.

Next weeks clashes are

Donaghmore Ashbourne v Dunboyne & Oldcastle v St Michaels. 

Intermediate championship Group A opened with a victory for fancied Navan O’Mahonys against Dee Rangers with county star  Ailbhe Leahy getting a hat trick. In the other game in the group, Summerhill secured a 7 point victory on their travels to Dunsany. 

Next Sunday sees Summerhill at home to O’Mahonys and Dunsany travel to Dee Rangers. 

In group B, Na Fianna secured a 7 point win over St Colmcille, and in the other game Ratoath best Clann Na nGael. Round 2 games see Clanns take on Na Fianna and St Colmcilles are at home to Ratoath. 

In the Junior A, Group A competition St Pats had a 6 point win away to Walterstown and in the other game last years beaten finalists, Skryne defeated St Ultans. Round 2 next Sunday sees Skryne host Walterstown in a local derby and St Ultans travel to Stamullen to take on St Pats. 

In group B, Duleek Bellewstown beat Moylagh while there are only 3 in this group, Moynalvey had a bye. For Round 2 games next Sunday, Duleek have the bye weekend and Moylagh play Moynalvey
