Paul Halligan presents the U14 Div 3 FL Cup to Brian Meade

Our photo shows Brian Meade receiving the 2000 Under 14 Division 3 FL Cup from Meath Juvenile Board Secretary Paul Halligan.

Lining out at full back Meade was on of the stars as Rathkenny claimed their first Under 14 title in over 20 years. Under the guidance of John Martin they also added a championship title later on in the year when beating St. Pats in the decider.

Fast forward seven years and the Rathkenny star was making his way on to the Meath senior football squad. Meade gave some outstanding displays in the middle of the park for the Royals, winning a Leinster SFC medal in 2010 and picking up the Meath Senior Footballer of the Year award in 2013.

Brian retired from the intercounty scene in 2015 but is still giving top performances for his club.

For the record that successful Rathkenny team was: O. Elliott, D. Taaffe, B. Meade, R. Martin, S. Finney, C. Curtis, T. Walsh, J. Macken, A. Hanratty, S. Carry, B. Farrelly, D. Donegal, S. Lineman, A. Timmons, T. Wogan. Subs: A. Curtis and F. Reilly
