Schools: Historic first for Kilbride girls

Kilbride NS girls team claimed their first ever Allianz Meath Cumann Na mBunscol title when overcoming the Gaelscoil na Bóinne challenge in the third final of the day, Girls Division 2 Football, at Pairc Tailteann.
Appearing in their first ever decider the Kilbride school were never trouble. Playing against the breeze they led 4-6 to 0-0 at the interval. Laura Campion sent over four points while captain Aideen Reilly (2), Maria Rauniomaki Ni Bairead and Susie Dempsey got in for the goals.
Reilly led by example in the second half and scored 2-1 to seal an easy win for Kilbride.
