MATTOCK RANGERS 0-14
DREADNOTS 1-10
Mattock Rangers can look forward to another year in the Senior Championship after coming through this relegation play-off semi-final against Dreadnots at Darver on Sunday afternoon.
The Collon men battled back from a slow start and a strong second half culminated in a dramatic late winner from David Reid, who announced his retirement after the game.
The Dreadnots had the wind in their backs in the first half and made a flying start with the opening four points from Cian McEvoy, Barry Faulkner, Pepe Smith and Jay Hughes, before Mattock opened their account through Adrian Reid.
It got even better for the Clogher men when Cian McEvoy scored the only goal of the game to put his side 1-4 to 0-1 in front, although Mattock rallied before the break to cut the gap to 1-5 to 0-4.
Rangers continued to eat into the deficit and reduce the arrears to two points before Ciaran Finnegan and Cathal Lynch helped put Dreadnots five clear.
Mattock bounced back once again with five successive scores to draw level but it looked as if they would miss out when Nathan Sutherland fired over. However, there was time for more drama as Reid landed the equaliser before sending over the winner straight from the kick-out.
