Meath and Dublin have been dealt huge blows ahead of their do-or-die All-Ireland SFC Round 2B ties against Derry and Cavan respectively this weekend with the news that Ruairí Kinsella and Killian McGinnis have suffered ACL injuries.

Both players are facing up to a year on the sidelines after sustaining the dreaded injury. An All-Star nominee last year, Kinsella suffered the injury in training last weekend after scoring 2-21 in Meath's successful Allianz League Division 2 campaign this spring. The Dunshaughlin playmaker also posted 0-5 in the Royals' recent All-Ireland SFC Round 1 defeat to Cork.

McGinnis, meanwhile, sustained the same injury during the second half of Dublin's All-Ireland SFC Round 1 loss to Louth. The Skerries Harps forward initially tried to play on, but was forced to retire after 43 minutes.
