I have not been a fan of this new system for running off the back door. It does not even served the purpose of streamlining fixtures as it was suppose to. Byanthon (Tyrone) - Posts: 1792 - 26/06/2015 12:40:21 1743028 Link 0 |
GreenField - That doesn't seem right. The semi is Ulster v Munster, so wouldn't the quarter finals on Aug 8th have Ulster and Munster champs, not connaught? Cupotay (Donegal) - Posts: 31 - 26/06/2015 14:29:47 1743119 Link 0 |

Seriously lads, this new qualifier system has been in place since last year. It's designed to stop teams from the same province meeting in the All-Ireland. SeppBlatter (Dublin) - Posts: 187 - 26/06/2015 14:52:59 1743134 Link 0 |
All qualifier games should be open draw. 1 bowl only. No teams would get any priority. When your in the draw it's back doors time so open draw all rounds. And if 2 beaten provincial finalists meet so be it. Awwwwnow (Cavan) - Posts: 1050 - 26/06/2015 15:06:02 1743143 Link 0 |

I've just been looking at the wallchart on the GAA site. Connaught final is designated B side of the draw, but on the chart they have the connaught loser going into the A side qualifiers. I think there is a mistake on that. If the fixtures/ wall chart are right, the leinster champions will have a 4 week break between Qtr and Semi but ulster champs will have 2 week turn around (aug 8th & 23rd), assuming both come thru the quarters... Armagh away for us. Very tough draw. While I think we currently have better footballers the Athletic grounds is an intimidating ground more so than Healy Park for a relatively young side. Also the continued absence of Shane Walsh a serious loss. kiloughter (Galway) - Posts: 1973 - 29/06/2015 09:06:02 1744266 Link 0 |

Armagh v Galway should be the better of those 4 games. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2313 - 29/06/2015 09:21:22 1744293 Link 0 |

No doubt the tougher side of the qualifiers and while some predicting passage for all Ulster teams I think they will get their fill of it from the respective opponents. That said they will have been delighted to have avoided each other and get home advantage. Naysayer (Antrim) - Posts: 2071 - 29/06/2015 09:43:51 1744328 Link 0 |
