With teams divided into Group A & B for the qualifier draws, for Round 1 of the qualifiers teams were designated either Group A or B. Does anyone know what groups the losing provisional semi finals are assigned. Per last years rota, one team from each province was in each group.
Which groups are the following teams assigned,

Loser Meath/Westmeath

God knows. Not great for county boards who are looking to book buses, accommodation and food etc. for their teams.

Hoping the GAA will be considerate of supporters traveling when it comes to throw-in times. It's a very long journey from County Down to Wexford. A mid-afternoon throw-in would be ideal for us traveling supporters I would say.

So how does it all work, from what I can see its two groups initially, A and B. There are 8 first round qualifier games to be played (16 teams). These 16 teams are divided into two groups A and B, with four games in each group. The eight winners of those first round games advance to play a loser of a provincial semi final. After that it all gets a bit messy. Can anyone shed some light? Does the Winner of this game then go on to play against the loser of a provincial final then the winner here will play the winner of a provincial final.

Do the teams within the groups of A and B meet a second time apart from the first round game.

From what I can gather from GAA.ie, the losers of Leinster and Munster are on the A side of the draw with Connacht and Ulster on the B side.

So again we see how backward the GAA are, how hard is it to tell teams what time they are playing at. It's especially unfair on counties with long journeys who will have to organise transport.

Who ever out of our selfs or cork lose the Munster final will play a 4 th round qualifier game against who ever and if the loser from Munster wins that 4 th round game then they will be playing the Leinster champs.

The whole A and B thing is a joke. Redandblack you have said Clare is on side A which seems a fair enough assumption since that is what the gaa website says but I think Clare might be in B since Limerick also said A but wasn't.

That's true Kingdomboy. Loser in Killarney looks set to be on a collision course with Dublin come early August!

Ah sure we will have to tackle them at some stage if we want to retain Sam, but it is a good bit of motivation for both sides to give the Munster final there all!

Because that's a hell of a tough route to September, Dublin Q-final, probable Mayo Semi Final and then possibly Donegal in a final....

Sure you never know if Cork lose they might summon up enough self-respect to pay Dub's back for one or two recent hammerings.

If Kerry lose we can evoke memories of that glorious day in 2009! That wasn't a match, it was a massacre!!!!

I know what you mean the hermit although I wouldn't like to lose our 20 year home record. But if cork do beat us they would fancy taking out the Connacht loser in the quarters and Donegal in the semi. I'd love an old cork Kerry allireland final it's a savage athmosphere with the neighbors in Croker.

From my understanding as was communicated, for Round 1, A&B was designated as to when teams exited the provisional championship. Apparently there was a rota in each province. The purpose of this was to streamline fixtures so that teams would not have to wait too long until the R1 of the qualifiers. This made some since, however I do not know what logic was followed for R2-4.

For instance, in Connacht Galway were beaten last sunday, they are in Group B with a four week wait until R2 of the qualifiers while the loser of Roscommon/Sligo are in Group A with only a 2 week wait.
