Jesus - he can turn water into wine, while Superman doesn't even drink, the big lady-boy!

Nice open-minded approach. And who dares accuse you of bias?

joe is 22

Joe is not 22 until next month. McGrath is 20 in December.

Both great players but I do think Canning is a bit better overall and has given more memorable performances during both their short careers. To be honest I think both of them were a bit below their best this year. Joe obviously needs to sort his groin injury out as it definitely seemed to hinder his movement this year.

You can't take seriously the opinion of anyone who hasn't seen JC play. Your man loyal in the bag's been exposed as yet another HS spoofer a long time ago

Comparisons are always dangerous.

Like someone compared thurlesblues to Joe Peschi in Lethal Weapon.

OK OK OK OK OK another handy all-Ireland for tipp!

Two exceptional talents but only 1 has an All Ireland medal and he contributed handsomely to the championship. A wonderful hurler and footballer. Ask in 5 years time

Two great players and stars of the GAA for years to come but if I had a choice of picking one to play for KK it would be Joe all day long.

Thurlesblues "Joe would not get on the tipp starting 15"!!! Seriously even if you think McGrath is better surely he would get a game!
Joe didn't have a great game against Tipp this year but remember D Hayes only had agreat game as his marker was too busy doubling up on Canning.
Can I take this opportunity to remind you that the ref cheated us out of at least a replay in the quarter final!
No doubt I would rather Joe in his injured state than any other player in Ireland. Best ever

Is there no ignore post on hoganstand so i can hide thurlesblues posts, i know he's a windup but he's still bloody annoying.

If asked the question, who would you have on your team McGrath or Canning it would be JC every single time.

Bosch and Pinkie

I agree, there are some very good posters from Tipp such as Hag and Cheese, Lowerormond, Killarney 1987, Tiobraid etc who are real knowledgeable hurling people and who I heartily congratulate on their victory last week. This other guy though....

Why? Richie Power will be there for years to come yet but with Shefflin's injury possibly speeding up an impending retirement, a player like Noel McGrath would be a near ideal replacement?

If Joe Canning is to realise his undoubted potential, he needs to get fitter (or to be cruel lose some weight), get his injury sorted out, and possibly even stop playing so much hurling. It would be a shame to see somebody like Joe Canning never win a Celtic cross, but if both he and Galway don't get their act together, it is a very strong possibility.
