Lets see Dellboy. 3 teams involved - Duleek, Walterstown and Rathkenny. Not going to be solved by the GAA, so then presumably someone is considering going to the High Court with this. Duleek have no reason to do anything because they have not been involved in the row and are happily waiting to play whichever rusty team they have to play. Walterstown have no grounds for appealing because they have already appealed and got what they wanted. So that leaves .......
Hope not but can easily see it happening. The only sensible way to resolve this is no relegation and 2 teams down next year.
And who cares what the rules say. The rules are there to serve the GAA not the other way around. If the rules are not suitable for a particular onforseen situation then ignore them or change them. Just dont make a habit of it.

You said it correct but none of the teams are going that far so add up the rest and you will come up with someone else taking it that far boss .

Rock mate, if Croker say so then we will have a refixture. It may not materialise as this saga is set to go on but a refixture is forthcoming

i'm sure thats going ahead alright!!!!!!! - fixture has to be named to appeal i would presume - doubt this crap is over yet - some laugh looking at W'town did not agree to the extra time, its absolutely nothing to do with what they are giving out about, even in meeting minutes in paper they argued about the fixture time with the fixtutes committee, nothing was mentioned whatsoever about then never wanting to play extra time. They wont argue what the appeal is actually about because they know they had no problem with extra time on the day, they played it which sounds like consent to me and under no appeal as i dont believe the ref had it in his report. Its funny when you talk to w'town people, its all about when the fixture was, not a word about them saying they they were totally against extra time on the day, sure the man himself charlie was on, flying, they were sure they'd win it then!

SFC Relegation Final - Christmas day @ 4pm (have to allow time for county board officials to have the turkey and open their Christmas presents)

I would urge ALL neutrals to turn out to this replay and roar on Rathkenny. It would be a serious injustice if Walterstown were to win this. After all they were beaten fair and square on the pitch and have sought and found a loop hole in the rules, which gives them a 2nd chance!?! Embarassing for that club and players.

I cant believe Rathkenny are forced to replay this game. I really hope they beat Walterstown again and that they get relegated. All neutrals will be shouting for Rathkenny I hope!

Alias, don't think the thought of going to see a meath releagtion semi final football game would appeal to many neutrals especially in december. I can't choose a side in this argument because i feel both clubs have been hard done by but to be honest it's the county board who are at fault. Both teams will have stopped training at this stage and I fell sorry for them, I also heard that Duleek/Bellewstown havent done anything since their last feis cup game. The only thing is, at least its only a semi final and not a final, the losers will get a 2nd chance.

As for embarrassment, don't think they will be embarressed at all. They obviously feel like they had a valid argument so they'll be delighted with the re-fixture. Anyway if they stay up, they won't care how they did it. Ask the French in South Africa next year, do you think they'll care? ehhhh no.

Cant see Duleek being beaten regardless who wins between Walterstown and Rathkenny. There still training hard and have a league final coming up.

cant believe there will be replay, cos from what i was told the county board were going to relegate nobody and restructure next years championship, ihope rathkenny win but i cannot see them winning this as they have stopped training since the tuesday after the original match, ive heard walterstown are still messing about with a ball on sunday mornings so they will have a somewhat edge in terms of fitness.

if rathkenny dont show and a walkover is given to walterstown i presume they would do the same to any fixture agenst d/b where does that leave them for next season does anyone know if they can take a legal route to stay senior?? im sure this has been discussed within the club at some level.
