And I also find it very revealing that Jim made no mention of wanting to come to Aughrim. sponger (Wicklow) - Posts: 2943 - 17/06/2025 09:54:26 2618603 Link 1 |
Weren't you called out by Mayo posters as a Troll account?

Donegal might and might not win the All Ireland this year. It's a competitive field where any of about six teams will fancy their chances with a fair wind behind them. Jim is doing what Jim does, galvanising the squad and the supporters behind them. It's not new or surprising, but it still seems to trigger lots and lots of people, there's smoke coming off many a keybaord and phone up and down the country since his Sunday evening interview. Funny it seems to be be largely the same few Donegal posters giving it the big I am these days that were also the sorest losers you could imagine back in 2020 Breffni40 (Cavan) - Posts: 12400 - 17/06/2025 10:26:30 2618611 Link 0 |
Total violation on Donegal having to go to Athlone, did ye catch the ferry in Carrick? maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1234 - 17/06/2025 10:33:09 2618616 Link 0 |
We were beat fair and square that day. I certainly had no complaints.

Yeah, I've never seen so many people having a whinge about Jim having a whinge. The irony is lost on them. Agree about Murphy too - one county's fans in particular are obsessed with him.

Don't mind Clare, she's a very sore loser. She was talking all week about how we were in for a shock on Sunday and I'm sure it was a hard defeat to take. The fact that we could have let Mayo through with a draw but decided to bury them with the last kick of the ball instead just makes it all the funnier. The Mayo fans around us all were all very gracious in defeat I'd have to say though and this troll isn't thankfully representative of the vast majority of her county people.

It's posters like yourself from Mayo who make we now wish we'd releagted you from Div1 as well while we were at it.

Yeah I don't really know why there's been such a big hullabaloo over it really. We all know what he's up to with his comments and the timing is perfect given he's more than likely not massively happy with where performance levels are. He also knows as you say that he needs the support 110% behind ye moving forward and creating the big of "them against us" narrative feeds into that perfectly. As you also say, nothing new or surprising. Leave him at it and things will be settled on the field over the next few weeks. On Murphy's form - what a player firstly. Another top performance on Sunday and for a man closing in on his 36th birthday its all the more impressive he is playing such a prominent role. I wonder if things are going to plan this weekend if he'll get a bit of a rest. Not saying he needs it but would be no harm now with the schedule about to ramp up for those teams that progress beyond the weekend. The league might be Mayo's next big game to play (thanks to Donegal - still hilarious how we dangled you for 70 mins to land the fatal blow at the last possible opportunity) but Donegal are still in the championship. We'll concentrate on the league when it comes around for us. Hope you enjoy watching the Club World Cup. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1236 - 17/06/2025 11:12:26 2618636 Link 0 |
Oh I know, should go without saying that it's not all Donegal fans, but 3/4 specific posters who were insufferable before and after the 2020 final

That's one problem you won't have travelling to matches. If I supported a team that haven't won a match in the group stages I would stay off the forum. Scenicparish (Donegal) - Posts: 586 - 17/06/2025 11:24:14 2618647 Link 0 |
Murphy a fine player and needed by Donegal to make final and maybe win it, however he is playing on the edge and in danger of getting a few cards even a red, however has any ref the guts to give him even a yellow. jacktheboy (Donegal) - Posts: 486 - 17/06/2025 11:25:48 2618648 Link 0 |
Yes! The orange and white brigade are going out of their way online to discredit the man. Pathetic stuff for a guy who is more a man than any of them in every way.

Yourself and your mates on the blog are constantly still bringing up being brought to Limerick for a semi final v Kerry over a decade later. That's at least on the road between the two counties. Do you not get the hypocrisy here of giving out about Donegal complaining about getting harsher treatment? Lines like the last one really don't help you either. You've never seen Mayo win an All Ireland. All these Donegal posters have. Some have seen two PressureKick (UK) - Posts: 295 - 17/06/2025 11:51:59 2618662 Link 0 |
