I'd say playing your B team could mean you will be waving goodbye next week if Galway were to be travelling to Killarney.

Exactly - Limerick will be fine with it. Not as if we have much chance of beating them to be honest. Let's call it as it is, and no yerra yerra about it. Truth is, they are miles ahead of us. But even still, it will be great to have a crack at them and try do ourselves justice. Hopefully we put in a good performance against the masters..! They are a hell of a team. One of the all time great hurling teams in fact. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 4304 - 15/06/2025 19:28:54 2617825 Link 0 |
Yes. Absolutely stupid decision to shoot early. Surely they knew a draw was enough. Play the hooter and have the last effort.

I think you're stirring the pot here. I doubt many Galway hurling fans have any hope for the year, but a Galway v Kerry football match, with the current football rules making the game very good to watch, would be the bigger game as a knockout.

A couple of rule tweaks, as previously mentioned, and we nearly have a perfect game. But the calendar needs to be extended by a week or 2 imo. League Final and then Championship the following week, is a prime example. Similar for the Joe McDonagh and straight into a preliminary 1/4 final, and no space for a replay in either code. But we are getting there.... there is currently no space or time to recover from an injury. A slight extension of the calendar who help I reckon. The draw is tomorrow morning. In one bowl will be Donegal, Kerry, Down, Dublin. border Gael (Monaghan) - Posts: 916 - 15/06/2025 19:55:56 2617846 Link 0 |
I noted that. I always understood that teams from the same group could not be paired together in the preliminary q/fs.

Do you post about anything other than Donegal and always, always in a negative light? We won, fair and square and I hope you squirmed through every second of it.

Another draw I'd say, no repeat group pairings or repeat provincial final pairings if possible. I don't know that though, just guessing that it makes sense.

Yes, another draw with the same constraints regarding previous meetings.

That's a wrap for the group stage. 3 from 4 has been a bad idea for football. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8942 - 15/06/2025 21:22:57 2617899 Link 0 |

You need to learn the rules before you comment. Good win in the Tailteann Cup today....

Correct. Provincial finalists cannot meet either eg Donegal cannot meet Armagh in the quarter finals if they win next week.
