Replying To kerry4sam25:  "Word got through our lads playing b side so backed Meath, Galway and Derry. 8,260 winnings if all come good."
I'd say playing your B team could mean you will be waving goodbye next week if Galway were to be travelling to Killarney.

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "Where you hear that?

Thought it would be double header with other quarter final. PUC mentioned?

Limerick won't mind. No advantage to us and they love playing there. Croke Park i mean."
Exactly - Limerick will be fine with it.

Not as if we have much chance of beating them to be honest.
Let's call it as it is, and no yerra yerra about it.
Truth is, they are miles ahead of us.
But even still, it will be great to have a crack at them and try do ourselves justice.
Hopefully we put in a good performance against the masters..!
They are a hell of a team. One of the all time great hurling teams in fact.

Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "I'm going to come out with a crazy question. Did Mayo equalise too early? Should they have waited until the hooter and made sure there was no chance of a Donegal winner? In this day and age with the hooter system and the certainty of knowing when full time is, maybe it's not so bonkers."
Yes. Absolutely stupid decision to shoot early. Surely they knew a draw was enough. Play the hooter and have the last effort.

Replying To Past hurler:  "Now that would be a cracker of a double header in Killarney but you'd really want the hurling as the main event.

To watch a fast paced hurling match and then a slower paced football match after it would be tough going.

It would be packed to the rafters and the atmosphere would be electric around the town and at the match."
I think you're stirring the pot here. I doubt many Galway hurling fans have any hope for the year, but a Galway v Kerry football match, with the current football rules making the game very good to watch, would be the bigger game as a knockout.

Replying To BarneyGrant:  "As a critice, I have say that football has become a compelling game to watch."
A couple of rule tweaks, as previously mentioned, and we nearly have a perfect game.

But the calendar needs to be extended by a week or 2 imo.
League Final and then Championship the following week, is a prime example.

Similar for the Joe McDonagh and straight into a preliminary 1/4 final, and no space for a replay in either code.

But we are getting there.... there is currently no space or time to recover from an injury.
A slight extension of the calendar who help I reckon.

The draw is tomorrow morning. In one bowl will be Donegal, Kerry, Down, Dublin.
In bowl 2 will be Cavan, Cork, Louth Galway.
After next weekends games what will be the format for the quarter finals?
Is it like what someone on here said earlier eg that the winners of group one play the winners of group 4 and the winners of group 2 play winners of group 3?
For example ...if Donegal ( group one) beat whoever they meet then they would play Armagh and if Dublin beat whoever they meet then they would play Tyrone?

OR will there be another draw next week ?

Replying To Fionn:  "I actually heard that it is a real possibility if kerry draw v Galway... a double header in Killarney

On a side note what is the story with CS on the Sunday Game live - can someone please explain the rules of the draw to her.... She kept going on about Dublin meeting Galway next week... like come on... is there no one better to get on RTE.??"
I noted that. I always understood that teams from the same group could not be paired together in the preliminary q/fs.

Boxes have to ticked.

Do you post about anything other than Donegal and always, always in a negative light? We won, fair and square and I hope you squirmed through every second of it.

Another draw I'd say, no repeat group pairings or repeat provincial final pairings if possible. I don't know that though, just guessing that it makes sense.

Yes, another draw with the same constraints regarding previous meetings.

That's a wrap for the group stage. 3 from 4 has been a bad idea for football.
Kerry v Galway will be an interesting pairing if the draw works out that way in the morning. Knockout all the way from here.

You need to learn the rules before you comment. Good win in the Tailteann Cup today....

Correct. Provincial finalists cannot meet either eg Donegal cannot meet Armagh in the quarter finals if they win next week.
