Thanks. Had a credit left from last year so watchin.. Limerick look pretty impressive at half time. Waterford hanging in but probably need goals before the gap starts to widen,

Hugh Game coming this weekend Clare V Tipperary, who ever wins is back on track, and whoever looses is in big big trouble. LimerickandProud (Limerick) - Posts: 156 - 07/05/2025 11:34:03 2607311 Link 0 |
Missing players makes a difference for sure but it happens to all counties. Especially with the quick turnarounds. We have been noted for not qualifying since this format started. At times missing 4 or 5 first team choices. We above anyone can not afford this. Even this year put Callum Lyons on one side of Tadgh and Fitzgerald on the other and we would be a different animal. Worth at least a few points a game. It is just the way it is and teams in fairness don't make excuses. Limerick looks loaded again and are primed to succeed.

I agree Waterford have been severely impacted by injuries over the last number of years. They have also had to cope without some generational players (who would make most county teams) who opted out, and of course you didn't get to play at home while Walsh Park was being redeveloped. All these things do add up but in fairness Waterford have still managed to compete and have marginally been on the wrong side of the results for qualifying a good few times. Limerick are probably in one of their best positions as regards injuries for a long time. I believe that any players missing at the moment are short term injuries rather than long term. However as every county knows, and Limerick know only too well, that situation could change quickly in one training session/match. My point is that if its a balancing act between minding fellas with minor injuries for later in Championship or having to throw them in (while not 100%) or else their might not be a "later in Championship", I think Clare may be in that bracket as regards Tony Kelly and Shane O'Donnell with Tipperary and Limerick still to play. Loser wont be out mathematically but in a bad place - 3 points rarely enough to qualify and for the loser thats the max they could get. If Clare lose both Tipp and Waterford would have head to head on them so Clares only hope would be to beat Limerick and hope Waterford remain pointless in their last 2 games If Tipp lose they have to beat Waterford to get 3 points and hope Limerick remain pointless, Waterford lose to Cork and they close the scoring gap A draw leaves both very much alive but in a tough spot We are blessed to have a five team league where anybody can beat anybody else Saturday could go either way, hard to see a Lohan managed Clare losing their crown in front of their own fans but it might come down to how many of their injured are back. Hard to imagine SOD will be ready but TK if even close to match fit will start. As a Limerick man I dont think it matters too much to us who wins. Even if Clare lose and they are to all intents and purposes out it wont matter to them when they play us Yadse (Limerick) - Posts: 118 - 07/05/2025 16:19:35 2607420 Link 0 |
They would indeed make a huge difference. But that's the difference between the top counties who are successful the chasing pack. The counties who are on top aren't losing players to "opting out for the year". You look at the Cody era with kilkenny, you got one chance to make it and that was that, nobody was opting out for a year to travel or whatever else. Same as Limerick and Kiely. It was full commitment from everyone. Supporters always lamenting guys who step away for whatever reason, they obviously can't be that serious about winning. The successful counties have players making these sacrifices. I've seen it first hand here in kildare hurling for years. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 2336 - 07/05/2025 16:29:52 2607422 Link 0 |
Teams are in for Clare and Tipperary. Some big calls on both teams. LimerickandProud (Limerick) - Posts: 156 - 09/05/2025 16:39:08 2607861 Link 0 |
Would expect Tipp to win handy today. Clare will be knocked out this evening. Have 50 double on Tipperary and Donegal to win this evening. CorkLiamMcCarthy24 (Cork) - Posts: 163 - 10/05/2025 17:08:36 2608081 Link 0 |

Beat Clare even though given no chance. Beaten by a juggernaut flying Limerick team by 6 points. Let's see how the rest can do against them. There is such a desire to write Waterford off. Maybe we will not win another game but as of now still in the championship When and if not some of us will follow these great teams without bias. Clare gone no doubt about it better chance of winning Euro millions now, Limerick are flying and we will be hammered if we bring current form to Ennis Road pleased at least that Clare died with the boots on but Tipp were better some good hurling in it thought
